Pablo Bickenbach
Pablo is the current President of HBI having joined banking in 2013. Pablo has more than 21 years of experience in the financial sector and has been a member of credit committees in several local and international banks.
At HBI, Pablo has led and executed various M&A, Project Finance and project finance transactions with numerous clients from various sectors, from consumer and retail to energy and infrastructure. Some of the more notable transactions Pablo has led include:
The sale of Ibis Colombia to Accor, the sale of Isagen to Brookfield, the acquisition of a majority stake in Sophos Solutions from BVC, the sale of Archie's to Alsea, multiple mergers and acquisitions with Grupo Recordar and the sale of a minority stake from the Sala Group to Veolia. Pablo has also advised on the financing of Colombiana de Escenarios, Interagua and Sismedica, as well as on the structuring of syndicated loans to Mesofoods, Proquinal, Easyfly and Universidad Central.
Before joining Helm Group in 2005, Pablo was head of Non-Banking Financial Institutions at Citibank Colombia for 7 years where he developed the growth of the business with pension funds and insurance companies. Also, he advised the CAC (Central America and the Caribbean Region) in the development of its own financial institutions business.
Pablo has an MBA from IESE in Barcelona and is a graduate in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá.
